Thebarquest.com. This was one of the more fun projects that I have worked on using Drupal.
The owner of Thebarquest.com wanted a site to service bars, bands, DJ's and patrons. Bar owners get an interactive webpage where they can post all sorts of information about the bar, and the ability to place events that are linked to their bar. Bar owners can also use the site to find local music talent to bring into the bar. Bands have a way to provide information to potential venues, but also to their fans. Patrons get to make a list of their favorite bars and bands and with one click they can track the specials at all of their bars to determine which bar is right for them. Patrons can also use a view which shows what is going on over the next 10 days in their favorite bars or with their favorite bands.
Warning: tech speak, this site utilizes ecommerce and workflow to provide for payments and publishing of content. The site was built using a heavily customized roopletheme. Some of the more interesting technical tricks was the proximity search (Look for all bands within 10 miles of my house), image-cache presets allow for all sorts of formatting options while thickbox utilizes jquery for bringing those thumbnails to the foreground for those of us that are not under 30. Location and Gmap were used to provide mapping of bars and bands a feature which will be rolled out later this month. CCK, Views, and panels are used extensively in this site as they are in most Drupal sites.
